Windows Store App Won't Download

Windows store app won
I've been to many corners of the internet trying to find a solution to this problem. I honestly didn't know it was a problem until today, as I have rarely used the Windows App Store.
I went there to download the Nook app onto my Lenovo ideapad, running on Windows 8.1 Pro. I've come to find out that no matter what I try to download, I get the error message 'Something happened and your purchase couldn't be completed', even if it's a free app.
I made sure my laptop clock/date is accurate, changed settings in Services (Windows Update), Firewall is set correctly, etc.
What I refuse to do are things that will reset my system, alter the laptop's software or re-install Windows 8. My laptop didn't come with a disc for re-installing all the things that make my computer function. I bought it at BestBuy if you're wondering. I'm afraid my laptop won't be able to recover from a reset, unless someone has an idea that would prevent my essential programs from being deleted, especially since this is a minor issue of simply downloading an app. I don't think that warrants a complete system rest.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Windows Store App Download

Windows 10 Home x64 - Store apps won't download in Software and Apps When trying to install 3rd party apps via the Windows Store, my system hangs at 0.0MB downloaded. I've tried rebooting and using wsreset.exe, it does nothing.

Windows Store Apps Will Not Download

  1. The Windows Store Apps troubleshooter is not built into Windows, but you can download it from Microsoft for free. They have both a Windows 10 version and a Windows 8 version, so make sure you grab the right one. After you download the troubleshooter, double-click the file to run it. In the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter window, click Next to.
  2. I'm on 1803 17134.48 and all of my Windows Store apps (calculator, Feedback Hub, etc.) won't run. And once again in the Windows Store app all 14 apps show as having download/install errors (Code: 0x80070005).
