| Rondo of Blood PSP dub for PC-Engine. Just released a project I have been working on for a while now! It's a patch that will insert the official Konami English dub from Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP) into the original PC-Engine version and will also apply a slightly new version of Cubanraul’s English translation patch for the game. This was a collaboration effort between me and Cubanraul (the creator of the Rondo of Blood English patch). For more info see my thread I released it on at pcenginefx. http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index. ... ic=10588.0 Also mirrored on romhacking.net http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.p ... 549.0.html As you can probably tell I have a different user name (Burnt Lasagna) along with a different avatar on pcenginefx/romhacking.net, my signature is the same though. _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

Well...that sucks, pcenginefx apparently just got hacked and the site will be down until they finish fixing all the security loopholes. If anyone here is interested in trying out this patch let me know and I will give you the link. _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

I am interested =) Nothing like playing this on real HD via RGB =P Though I will most likely won't be able to test it until the holidays... _________________ From the mathematical perspective, consciousness might be regarded as a second derivative of sensation. -- Terrel Miedaner [Junker HQ]

| Re: Rondo of Blood PSP dub for PC-Engine. Thanks man! Downloading the BIN/CUE one.. it is a huge patch, mostly audio in size I guess. _________________ From the mathematical perspective, consciousness might be regarded as a second derivative of sensation. -- Terrel Miedaner [Junker HQ]

As I said in the readme. I should note this is somewhat problematic, as with most dealings with BIN files of PCE CD games, you must rip the BIN file with CDRWIN using default settings in order for it to patch correctly. CDRWIN can be downloaded here. I've actually never gotten this version of the patch to work correctly, only Cubanraul has and he made the BIN/CUE patch. The ISO/WAV patch has been the most tested and ripping PCE-CD games to an ISO-WAV archive is the most reliable way to rip a PCE-CD game, so I would recommend trying that one if it doesn't work. _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

| Re: Rondo of Blood PSP dub for PC-Engine. Ok, thanks... a shame the source seems to be a youtube video, but guess there is not much that can be done _________________ From the mathematical perspective, consciousness might be regarded as a second derivative of sensation. -- Terrel Miedaner [Junker HQ]

Would you have thought the source was from a YouTube video had I not said so? I figured those videos where better recorded then anything I could have done considering the lousy equipment I have for recording something of that nature. I don't think extracting the audio out of the PSP version would of made it sound any better anyways, but even if it was a bit nicer it would have been more difficult than it was probably worth. _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

I wouldn't have expected it, but I do have an ear for compressed audio =P I figured those videos where better recorded then anything I could have done considering the lousy equipment I have for recording something of that nature.
That is true as far as recording is concerned, but recording in a lossless format would certainly give better results, since you don't know what his reconding involved, but you do know that at least the re-encoding by youtuibe happened. I don't think extracting the audio out of the PSP version would of made it sound any better anyways, but even if it was a bit nicer it would have been more difficult than it was probably worth. I am certain it would, but I am a purist/perfectionist. I am not trying to be negative about it, I just had the hope it would be a direct rip loosing as little as possible, even if I knwo the source isn't lossless either it would be a direct conversion form the compressed format on PSP to WAV, instead of several decompressions and recompressions in between). Just my picky nature, sorry. _________________ From the mathematical perspective, consciousness might be regarded as a second derivative of sensation. -- Terrel Miedaner [Junker HQ]

I agree that YouTube was not the most ideal thing to use and I would of rather of recorded it myself but I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for quality recording equipment for the PSP let alone the price and I’m sure emulation for the PSP would be terrible. Extracting the audio from the PSP version would have been the best option but, as I said before, that’s a whole other ball game that I have yet to get into. So YouTube was really the best option I had at my disposal. I hope this isn’t as noticeable for everyone else. (I know it wasn’t for me) _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

(yeah I know, another double post by me..) *update* Not that anyone here really cares, but whatever I'm doing it anyways! I re-posted what I had on pcenginefx onto romhacking.net's forum. http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.p ... 549.0.html Cubanraul also has it up on his site, it supersedes the previous release of his English patch. http://home.comcast.net/~heavyweights/games/drac/ _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

Thought Artemio would like to know that the next release of the patch will not only be the final release (100% in English) but will also include a direct rip of the dub. I finally decided to look at the PSP version's file structure and found out that it was surprisingly easy to rip _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

Wait, what...? This forum is getting better and better! If this is really happening, than I won't have time to do anything but to game... If I'm correct, this is the best Castlevania around. I'm working on trying to get the final version of this patch released. The one that's out now isn't 100% finished. So far the only thing left to do for the 100% patch is to finish the credits, which is up to tomaitheous, so the project is sort of out of my hands at the moment. _________________ What Button Do You Press To Jump!?!

No rush, I don't have time to game at the moment so that's no problem. Question though, is this a patch to apply to the iso so that you can play an English version on emulator, or is it possible to apply the patch to a cd and then play it on your PC Engine (seeing that it isn't copy protected)? (Not that I own the console, but I guess I one day will, just to play Snatcher to compare it with the SCD version) _________________ Damn!

Just keep in mind that you have to apply the patch to an ISO and then burn it to a blank Disc. You can't patch the original, as it's read only.
